Polar Night

The Polar Night in Lapland, known as “kaamos” in Finnish, is the time of year when the sun does not rise above the horizon at all. Here in Nuorgam, the polar night lasts for over 50 days – from late November to mid-January (November 26th to January 16th).

Although it’s a dark period, the moonlight, the glow of the snowy landscape, and the dance of the Northern Lights illuminate the breathtaking winter scenery of northernmost Lapland. During the polar night, stunning colors often appear along the horizon, and the deep blue moments of kaamos are truly stunning experience.

Duration 26th Nov – 16th Jan
