The surrounding areas of Nuorgam are excellent for picking berries and mushrooms from late July to early September, until the first night frosts arrive. The berry-picking season begins in July with cloudberries, when the bogs glow yellow. Blueberries and crowberries, which make excellent juice, follow shortly after. The season ends with lingonberries. Picking berries and mushrooms is a right enjoyed by everyone. A nature guide can be arranged to join the excursion for an additional fee.
