Trips to Norway

The Arctic Ocean in Norway is only a stone’s throw away from Nuorgam. Norway offers a world of its own year round – experience the small fishing villages, the distinct Sami culture and the Finnish culture of Bugøynes. A daytrip to Norway can for example be; a drive from Nuorgam through Varangerbotn to Vadsø. It is also possible to take the Hurtigrute, a coastal steamer, from Vadsø to Kirkenes and drive back to Nuorgam from there. Some other possibilities include a visit to the Sami museum in Varanger, shopping in Tana; for example in Tana visit “Sami Sølv” – a Sami jewellery boutique and a Sami handiraft exhibition. Ocean fishing in Norway is not to be forgotten. In Polmak and Varagerbotn there are Sami museums which have interesting exhibits about the area’s indigenous people, come and get to know the area!
