At the Nuorgam Holiday Resort you have reached the peak. This is guaranteed by our location at the top of Finland and the roof of Europe. In addition, we will make your holiday one to remember, with our family run business and 35 years of professional skill and experience. Our parents Johanna and Mauno established the Nuorgam Holiday Resort in 1970 and at that time it was one of the first resorts in the Teno River salmon valley. We have together with my brother Veli Holmberg followed in our parent’s footsteps and continued as entrepreneurs since 1990, offering customer service year round. During these years the holiday resort has grown and we wish to constantly develop the business to ensure customer satisfaction.

The Nuorgam Holiday Resort offers you the same peace and tranquillity of your own home while on holiday. For those whom are seeking an active holiday there are many activities – on the other hand, if one only wishes to relax and watch the Teno River run by, time passes peacefully in any case. The Teno River is Europe’s largest and best salmon river, which enthrals fishermen regardless of where they are from. However, if fishing is not your forte, you may hike in the treeless mountains, go Nordic walking, pick berries, go bird and animal watching or take day hikes to Norway and the Arctic Ocean. Become acquainted with the local Sami culture! The autumn colours of the low-lying foliage are incredible in this immense treeless landscape! When snow has covered the terrain this area offers a myriad of varied snowmobile tracks, both in the Finnish and Norwegian mountains and to the ever ice-free Arctic Ocean – come and experience the contrasts! This area is excellent for cross-country skiing; treeless mountain tops, bright white snow and the views as though you are watching from a roof top. Ice-fishing for Arctic char offers great catches! Whether it be summer or winter it is always nice to return to the cosy atmosphere of this family run business to enjoy good hospitality, good food and the warmth and tranquillity of your cottage.
