Hiking

The Nuorogam area’s treeless mountain terrain offers peaceful hiking and for more challenging hikes visit the Norwegian fjelds. The Nuorgam Holiday Resort has its own wilderness base camp about a 2 hours hike into the mountains. Here one can enjoy the might of the mountains and roast sausages and eat Marjatta’s delicious packed lunches around the campfire. A cup of coffee made in a sooty pot highlights the trip. Here you have time to ponder the mountain’s ecosystem and the course of nature. The gyrfalcon lives in the area so remember to look up in the sky as well. During the autumn the foliage takes on dramatically vivid colours – this low-lying foliage can be enjoyed as far as the eye can see! Here, there are no trees to obstruct your view.

Enjoy life on the marked trails; there is an 8 km long trail to Skaidi Lake or walk on the trails of the Nuorgam Holiday Resort. For a longer journey there is also the 60km long marked trail between Pulmankijärvi and Sevetti. The trail begins at the south end of the Pulmankijärvi lake, however, if you do not wish to walk all the way to Nuorgam, make a U-turn and enjoy entirely new scenery on your way back to Pulmankijärvi
