Berry picking
After the summer solstice the berries begin to ripen. The first berry that is ready for picking is the cloudberry – Lapland’s gold – and the fens shine a bright yellow. And here we find an endless abundance of great fens! Drive a few kilometres to Pulmankijärvi lake, hike a short distance and you will find the fens covered with yellow berries. It is certain that the local shopkeeper will sell you more buckets for your berries….
The autumn’s second highlight is the crowberry season. This berry makes a renowned juice and is easy and clean to pick. Berry picking is always rewarding in this area and you will have plenty to take home with you. We are happy to freeze the berries for your journey home.
